Rosa Ruvio is a licensed & clinically trained psychotherapist as well as a certified yoga instructor. She received her Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling from LIU Brentwood in January 2014. Shortly after graduate school she continued on to the yoga teacher training which was completed in June 2014. In early spring of 2015, Rosa went for the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course, which is one of her specialties. The implementation of her clinical background combined with specific relaxation techniques provides a well-rounded approach to reducing overall stress, anxiety & depression. As a licensed and clinically trained psychotherapist, I like to tailor my therapeutic interventions to each client. My style is very much person-centered and mindfulness (MBSR) based but I will incorporate aspects of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and psychoanalysis. I also integrate detailed breathing and relaxation/meditation techniques that come from my yoga training. As someone who has always loved to listen, I believe in creating warmth throughout my therapeutic interventions. Each client is unique to me and is reassured that this is a safe, non-judgmental space in which growth and healing can prosper. I carefully take in consideration all facets of the client to work towards a guided self-discovery. The authentic self is innate to all; it just needs to be heard. New to therapy?
