History
Rain opened in November 2013. The newest addition to the Lark Street scene offers a modern design aesthetic and seats 118, including a full bar and parking in the back. Rain is brought to Lark by Frank Lee, owner of both Shoguns, in Delmar and Albany. Rain Modern Chinese represents a return to his Cantonese roots, updated with contemporary concepts and influences.
Specialties
Rain offers contemporary Chinese cuisine specializing in modern authentic Cantonese fare, and on the weekends, dim sum brunch served on carts. Cantonese cuisine utilizes mellow sauces, made from natural broths and juices, aiming to preserve the flavor from fresh ingredients, and not mask their original taste. Rain serves dim sum on weekends from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Instead of ordering off menus, servers push traditional carts, displaying a variety of small plates for customers to select, from fresh pork dumplings, steamed spare ribs, and even traditional chicken feet. We also offer 10% off for first time customers.
