South Orangetown Ambulance Corps, also known as SOAC, is a volunteer organization that offers ambulance and emergency medical services in the Town of Orangetown in New York. The organization provides 24-hour emergency response services. Founded in 1957, it responds to more than 1,500 calls. South Orangetown Ambulance Corps has youth and special operations divisions. As an American Safety and Health Institute Training Center, the organization offers emergency medical training and community outreach programs for the public. South Orangetown Ambulance Corps also provides basic life support courses and refresher programs for professionals through its training division. It maintains a fleet of medical response vehicles and bikes for special event coverage and expedient response. The organization is certified as the Basic Life Support EMS agency by New York State. South Orangetown Ambulance Corps is a part of the Orangetown s Emergency Medical Services system and a member of the New York State Volunteer Ambulance and Rescue Association.
