Although burgers are hardly difficult to find in White Plains, Porter House offers what few can refuse: a quality grind with a healthy complement of sides. Additionally, the beers are cool, large and clean, served in a high glass. They are also quite affordable averaging $6 for the importeds and $5 for the locals.
For those with bigger appetites, there's a prix fixe menu available Monday-Wednesday for $19.95, as well as a daily Happy Hour specials, including 1/2 price appetizers at the bar, from 4-7pm.
Reservations are suggested for groups of six or more, especially if you'd like to reserve the beer garden located behind the pub. The Porter House is a prominent night spot, so if you'd like to enjoy a quieter atmosphere, go during the day, when the lighting strikes the wood paneling in a most arresting way.
