With a loan from Bridgehampton National Bank, Gregg Torns started Park Place Chemists in 1980. It was located at 58 Park Place back then, and moved into the newly built East Hampton Health Care Center in 2002, amid doctors' offices and testing facilities. A true community pharmacy, Park Place Chemists focuses just on patients' health -- no perfumes and face creams here. You can also drop your unused medication off at this location for recycling.
If you've visited the pharmacy during the past 30 years, you've probably been waited on by Mr. Torns' mother, wife, daughter or any of his six nieces and nephews. Both of the pharmacists who work for him when he takes a break have been with him for more than 10 years.
