Paper Conservation Studio is a facility for restoration and conservation of works on paper for galleries, auction houses, private dealers, and individual collectors. In 1983, Alan Firkser and Suesanna Voorhees opened Paper Conservation Studio in a small garret at Madison Avenue and 84th Street in New York City. The company moved to BroadwayColumbus Circle in 1998, where we operated for 20 years. Following Suesanna’s retirement in 2000 Alan has continued to operate the company serving the art community and private collectors conserving prints, drawings, watercolors, graphic arts, historical documents, letters, etc. We also consult on and treat water and fire damaged items, as well as, items damaged in shipping. As of June 2018 we have relocated to our new studio in the ChelseaFlatiron District.
