Frank C. Bonamie, a former chief of the Cayuga Indian Nation of New York, founded Ongweoweh in 1978. Ongweoweh has grown to become one of the leaders in the pallet industry, distributing, managing, recovering and recycling more than 8 million pallets yearly throughout North America. Since its founding, Ongweoweh's mission has been to reduce material handling costs for its customers. The company has earned several awards, including the United States Small Business Administration's Regional Subcontractor of the Year. Headquartered in Ithaca, N.Y., Ongweoweh has grown to include offices in Rochester, N.Y.; Houston; and Erwin, TN.
