Established in 1961, the North Tarrytown Housing Authority is a low income housing complex. It is supported by the federal organization HUD, the US Department of Urban Housing and Development. It is a not-for-profit complex where occupants can pay up to 30 percent of their income towards rent. The remaining amount of income is subsidized by the Section 8 housing program. In addition to the apartments, there is a police substation located in the building.
