1960 - With 25 year's experience in the apple business, Herman Michaelson purchases a controlling interest in Hudson Cold Storage & Ice Corp. of Hudson, NY. 1970 - Herman Michaelson Inc. merges with Storm King Fruit Growers Sales Corp. to become United Apple Sales, Inc. After Herman Michaelson passes away, his son Martin Michaelson begins to operate the business 1992 - Split from United Apple Sales, Inc. to become New York Apple Sales. 2000 - Kaari Stannard became Owner/President after the passing of Martin Michaelson. 2008 - New York Apple Sales invests in and becomes a partner in Lake Ontario Fruit, a high-tech packaging/shipping facility in Albion, NY. 2010 - New York Apple Sales invests in and becomes a partner with Rod Farrow in Fish Creek Orchards, an orchard operation in Western, NY. New York Apple Sales invests in and becomes a partner in Pomona Packing, a high-tech packaging/shipping facility in Wolcott, NY.

NYAS ships over 1/3 of NY's fresh apple crop to retail, wholesale, food service and terminal markets in the U.S. We export to Asia, Israel, Central America, the United Kingdom and India all year and import fresh apples from New Zealand and Nova Scotia, Canada during our winter months. In addition to shipping, we operate our own Fish Creek Orchard, and have interests in two regional packing facilities. Our focus on fresher apples, more varieties, premier quality, superb service, and food safety is unmatched.
