Designated as southern Westchester County s only area trauma center, Sound Shore Medical Center of Westchester provides primary, acute, emergency and long-term health care services to residents throughout the region. Its more than 550 physicians represent specialties such as cardiology, endoscopy, bariatric surgery, sleep disorders, diagnostics, diabetes, orthopedics, neurology and cardiac care. The center annually serves more than 85,000 individuals, including more than 36,000 patients who visit its emergency care department each year. Established in 1892 as New Rochelle Hospital, Sound Shore Medical Center of Westchester now has more than 325 acute, 50 rehabilitation and 100 extended care beds. The center is located in New Rochelle, N.Y.
