History
Momenta Art was originally established in Philadelphia in 1986 by Eric Heist, Donna Czapiga and James Mills. From 1986 to 1991 they operated a permanent exhibition space in Philadelphia which presented the work of approximately 250 artists. In 1992, under the direction of Eric Heist and Laura Parnes, Momenta Art relocated to New York City, functioning during this transitional phase as a migratory gallery while presenting exhibitions in a variety of temporary venues in Manhattan. In March of 1995 Momenta Art reopened in a permanent exhibition space in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
