History
In 2017 after exploring options in Bali, Indonesia, India, and Taiwan, it was decided that the Middle Way pilot school should be located in Upstate New York. The Middle Way School opened in 2018 with 17 students in West Saugerties.
Specialties
The Middle Way School of the Hudson Valley is an academic independent day school with 29 students ages 3-9 currently enrolling for ages 3-10 for 2020-2021. Planning to keep expanding through 12th grade. As one of the first Buddhist schools for children in the West, Middle Way is on a mission to prepare students to take their places in the modern world with the noble qualities of intelligence, confidence, and discipline, with an understanding of interdependence and a fundamental motivation of altruism. Students and families receive dedicated attention and individualized instruction, as well as an invitation to walk the path of wakefulness.
