McIntosh Box & Pallet, founded in 1961, opened its plant in Bernhards Bay, N.Y. in 1971, when the current assembly area was built to enable the automated production of commodity pallets. Since that time, the plant has been expanded to more than 35,000-square-feet. In 1987, the company purchased Dahn Crating Company in Rome, N.Y., to support business opportunities in the Mohawk Valley. In 1992, McIntosh Box & Pallet purchased a 30-acre parcel and buildings in Bernhards Bay, N.Y., from Rutland Plywood. The company has nearly 160 employees, 95,000-square-feet of manufacturing space and 40 acres at three manufacturing plants. It services customer needs for new and recycled pallets, wooden crates and containers, pallet recycling and disposal within an approximately 100-mile radius of Syracuse, N.Y.
