Mary G. Clarkson Elementary School was built in 1963 and named to honor Mary Griffith Clarkson who was an active resident of Bay Shore, N.Y., and a distinguished member of the district board of education. It provides learning opportunities to more than 550 students in kindergarten through grade two. The school s academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as language development, math, science, social studies, art, music and physical education.
