Specialties
Dr. Jofe founded the practice in 1981 after finishing his residency at New York University Medical Center. Dr. Jofe specialized in cataract microsurgery, and treatment for a form of glaucoma that is common to certain ethnic populations. He became a recognized expert in no-stitch cataract microsurgery, and one of the busiest surgeons in the New York region. Dr. Jofe's practice was one of the first private non-hospital practices to use a multispecialty approach. He utilized a team of eye surgeons and physicians to address a variety of different problems ranging from simple to complex glaucoma, diabetic eye diseases to vitreoretinal disorders, from eyelid lesions to severe lid deformities, and simple to vague neurological problems involving the eye.
