History
Maria Droste Counseling Services was established in November 1982 by the Sisters of the Good Shepherd who have been in the vanguard of human service providers in New York City since the mid-nineteenth century. Maria Droste (1863-1899) was a Good Shepherd Sister particularly known for her gift of consolation in relationships with others. MDCS has provided thousands of clients from the New York area with excellent and affordable mental health care. The agency was founded on the belief that clinicians fortunate enough to have the resources to earn professional credentials would welcome the opportunity to give something back to the community. Note: Reviews added to Yelp will not be responded to to ensure HIPAA compliance. Any concerns or issues should be raised directly with MDCS administration and the MDCS clinician. We recommend this to ensure your privacy around treatment.
