When I started the Leah Lopez Atelier, I became aware that many students hungered for a connection, a source to draw from and essentially, an ongoing student/mentor relationship. When that dynamic is present and is coupled with good instruction, art students flourish. - Leah Lopez Leah Lopez, a New Mexico native, studied traditional drawing and painting in the West and the Southwest before moving to New York to attend the Art Students League. Her oil paintings are an expression of 'elegance and romance' and are treasured by collectors across the US. With 19 years of teaching experience, Leah taught still life and flower painting for eight years at the New York Academy of Art and is a mentor for aspiring artists. Over the last seven years, Leah has drawn to her, students from across the country. They come to study in her private studio, which is located on Union Square, and is also the location of Leah Lopez Atelier.

She has many pieces for available for sale today or you can commission a painting as well. Her styles range including still life, figurative, and landscape/cityscape oil paintings. She has been featured in multiple publications and you can see her art in galleries across the city. Leah also offers atelier courses. These are unique art classes with very personalized instruction which are held in Leah's private art studio, located on the top floor of the historical 41 Union Square West studios. Each class is limited to just 6 students. Instruction is in drawing and painting and students may work on still life, figure and landscape. Individuals may also request private lessons to achieve personal goals or to build an art portfolio.
