Founded in 1993, the Larchmont-Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force is a coalition of community members, local organizations and houses of worship that assists local families in need of food.
The food pantry is housed by the Mamaroneck Community Action Program (CAP) on Center Avenue. The task force operates with an annual budget of $180,000, out of which 90 percent is allocated to purchase food and basic items for the needy.
Food distribution happens twice per month, usually on the Tuesday night and Wednesday morning of the 2nd and 4th week of every month.
The task force is run by volunteers, so extra help is welcome. Volunteers can distribute food, organize food drives and/or raise funds. Young volunteers must be at least 10 years old. For more information, email volunteer@lmfoodpantry.org.
