John A. Buza, MD, MS, is an orthopedic spine surgeon at NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Queens. He specializes in conditions of the spine, with a focus on minimally invasive techniques and advanced technology using computer navigation. Dr. Buza treats patients with diseases and disorders, including adult scoliosis, herniated disk, spine arthritis, cancer of the spine, sciatica, and addresses fractures, infections, injury, and pain. Dr. Buza graduated from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons with his Master’s in Human Nutrition and remained there to complete his medical degree. He served his residency at the Hospital for Joint Diseases at NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital and completed his fellowship at Norton Leatherman Spine Center at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Throughout his training, Dr. Buza has been active in clinical research, publishing his work in medical books and journals, including Physical Sports Medicine, the American Journal of Orthopedics, and the Clinical Review of Bone Mineral Metabolism. He has presented his research at annual meetings for the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the North American Spine Society, and the Orthopedic Research Society. Dr. Buza is a member of several professional organizations, including the North American Spine Society, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and the American Medical Association.
