History
Our congregation is one of the historic Lutheran churches in town, going back to the middle of the Civil War, 1863. We are a member of the North American Lutheran Church (NALC), and we offer a traditional vision of the Gospel. The Lutheran tradition is now over half-a-millennium old. Luther believed that in certain ways, something had gone wrong with his church -- a church that was dear to him. He sought, then, to reform the Catholic Church of his day. He sought to bring his church back more in line with the Bible. That is still the chief love of Lutherans: we love and honor the great traditions of the ancient church, but seek to understand them in ways that seem true to the Bible.

We believe that the news that Jesus of Nazareth is risen and is in charge of things is the best news this world has ever known.
