The Huntington Conservation Board is a Town Board-appointed volunteer advisory organization. The Conservation Board reviews and provides comments to the Town Board, Planning Board, Board of Trustees, and Zoning Board of Appeals on applications for land use change that have potential to affect Open Space Index-mapped property. In addition to its advisory review functions, the Conservation Board serves as a vital conduit for conveying environmental information on key topic areas (land use and review, marine and freshwater resources, parks, solid waste, and legislation) to Town leaders.
