Henry Viscardi School is a teaching community of students, parents, teachers, staff and volunteers dedicated to empowering students with physical disabilities and health impairments. The school works with its students in developing them to be active, independent, self-sufficient participants in society. Henry Viscardi School offers programs including internship programs for secondary students, ongoing technology evaluations and consultations, extended year summer programs and educational, cultural and recreational opportunities. A computer network encompasses the school s facilities. The school also offers a computer laboratory, multimedia resource center, library, adapted independent living house and independent living program and large heated indoor pool. Established in 1962 by Henry Viscardi Jr., the school is headquartered in Albertson, N.Y.
