The society was founded in 1929 and has been serving the community ever since. It serves many purposes including the reduction of cruelty to animals and animal protection law enforcement. It will convict any persons guilty of the mistreatment of animals. Additionally, the society offers shelter and aid programs for lost and abandoned pets. It provides medical care, adoption services, lost and found services and a spay/neuter program. There is also a Humane Education Program intended to keep the community aware of ways to prevent and spot animal abuse.
