Founded in 1917, Girl Scouts of the Nassau County is a nonprofit organization that offers preeminent leadership development services for girls. The organization has more than 22,000 girls and over 7,000 adult members. It offers educational and motivational programs and services that build courage, confidence and character. Girl Scouts of the Nassau County operates through volunteers who deliver and services for council-wide programs, design training modules and provide critical support for council events that enhances and strengthens girl scouting throughout the Nassau County in the state of New York. In addition, the organization's responsibilities include policymaking, fund development and strategic planning. It is located in Garden City, N.Y.
