I was born in former Soviet Union and later as adult immigrated in United States in early 90's. I had to restart my journey of becoming physician again. My new road gave me an opportunity to become the type of physician I always dream about. I became a trauma surgeon. After completing my residency and fellowship I joined level 1 trauma center where I had an opportunity to advance from young trauma surgeon to the Trauma Director. In 2021 I joined Staten Island University Hospital as a Trauma Medical Director and continue to have an honor to lead an incredible team of trauma, acute care, critical care surgeons and trauma department nurses. The Trauma & ACS team provides care to critically injured patients as well as many general surgery procedures to treat conditions like appendicitis, gall bladder diseases, hernias, and many others 24 hours 7 days a week.
