Just off of Main Street on Broadway in Irvington is the Foundation for Economic Education. Founded in 1946, the Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating students and professionals in the principles of free market economics. It both hosts events in the foundation's building in Irvington and gives lectures throughout the country.
The Foundation's walls are filled with letters from such figures as Ronald Reagan, Leon Trotsky, John F. Kennedy and William F. Buckley, and its library includes original letter written by Ayn Rand.
It produces 10 issues per year of the economic magazine, "The Freeman," which has been published since 1956. The Foundation selects a small number of college students as summer interns every year.
The Foundation's president is Lawrence W. Reed.
