Founded in 1983, Food Bank For New York City is an independent, nonprofit organization that provides after-school and emergency food programs. It conducts food stamp prescreening. The organization operates a soup kitchen and food pantry. It is a certified member of Feeding America and the Food Bank Association of New York State.
