Founded in 1979, the Food Bank of Western New York serves the emergency food needs of Erie, Niagara, Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties in New York. It distributes more than 10 million pounds of food annually to over 90,000 families. The organization administers the Food Express truck program, which delivers produce and perishable items through a refrigerated truck to member agencies for immediate distribution to clients. The Food Bank of Western New York provides nutritional education and emergency infant care services. Its member agency, Kids Caf , provides nutritious meals and after-school academic enrichment programs and serves more than 1,400 children annually. The organization is located in Buffalo, N.Y.
