Oneida Healthcare Center is a 101-bed acute care hospital and a 162-bed skilled nursing facility licensed by the State of New York and operated by Oneida Health Systems, a New York nonprofit corporation. The center serves an area comprised of 24 communities in Madison and western Oneida counties with a population of more than 80,000 from its main campus in Oneida. It also operates primary health centers in the Canastota, Chittenango and Camden; a maternal and child clinic at the North side Health Center in Oneida, three outreach laboratory draw stations in Oneida and Camden, and a rehabilitation and wellness center in Oneida. The center has a complete suite of operating rooms and specially trained staff to accommodate the wide variety of procedures scheduled by its surgeons. It operates a 24-hour Emergency Services department with specially trained physicians and nurses who are capable of handling many situations. The highly skilled ICU/CCU staff has a full complement of modern telemetry equipment at their disposal. ICU/CCU conditions include heart attack and stroke, serious accidents and some post-surgical care.
