Ethical Humanist Society of Long Island is a community dedicated to fostering ethical humanist beliefs and values and to improving the human condition through individual and collective action.
The society celebrates diversity and welcomes young and old, gay and straight, every race and ethnicity, anyone dedicated to making the world a better place for all.
An affiliate of the Ethical Culture movement, the society is a legally recognized religion though many members view it as a way of life, rather than a formal religion.
From September through June, members meet for about an hour and a half at 11am, Sundays, for a Platform service. The society welcomes newcomers of all faiths, color, sexual orientations and nationalities - anyone who agrees with making the world a better, more ethical place.
In 2000, the Ethical Humanist Society of Long Island celebrated its 50th anniversary.
