In 1986, DRA Advisor s founders set out to create a unique real estate investment organization characterized by independence, innovation and an entrepreneurial spirit. They succeeded in building DRA Advisors, which is led by the same seasoned, committed management team. DRA conducts its investment activities through its series of commingled funds, primarily the DRA Growth and Income Funds, whose investors are public- and private-pension funds, university endowments, foundations and individuals. The company currently manages more than $3 billion in real estate assets nationwide. The firm was established in 1986 as Dreyfus Realty Advisors, the real estate advisory arm of The Dreyfus Corporation. Subsequent to its merger with Mellon Bank, Dreyfus was required to divest its real estate advisory activities. Renamed DRA Advisors, the founding principals acquired the parent company's interest in 1994 and have grown DRA to its current position.
