Dr. Benisch strives each day to make a positive impact on the lives of others. He says, “I believe in treating every patient with the same level of care and compassion – no matter how severe or mild their medical situation may be. For me, there is no greater joy than returning a patient to good health.” Dr. Benisch received his undergraduate degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan, where he acquired a unique skill set he believed would be useful in the innovative field of medicine. He went on to receive his doctorate degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center and then completed his residency in general surgery at Brown University and Stony Brook University Hospital. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. However, when outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, boating and fishing, playing basketball, skiing, attending Broadway shows, cooking and reconnecting with his engineering roots by building model trains and airplanes.
