The Damselfly Designs story begins in 1990 with humble beginnings. Damselfly Designs owner Brenda LaManna is a hair dresser, specializing in on-site hair and make-up for bridal parties. While working with her bridal clients, Brenda finds herself quietly re-visualizing their floral arrangements and decor. She starts to make suggestions and move a few things around. Her ideas are received with resounding approval and her flight begins to take off. She quickly expands her South Salem business to provide wedding flower and decor services. Shortly, this evolves into corporate event design on a grand scale. Today, Damselfly Designs has expanded well beyond it's New York, New Jersey, Tri-State area roots, providing event design for corporate events across the United States, Europe and now the Middle East. Damselfly clients include Estee Lauder, Clinique, Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch, Emirate Airlines, Continental Airlines, Lindt Chocolates, and The Olnick Group, a commercial real estate management company whose holiday decorations are designed and installed by Damselfly Designs Brenda was selected to be a dresser for the 2008 Rose Parade, where she designed the floral arrangements on numerous floats. Damselfly Designs has been featured on the CBS Early Show and in various publications including Westchester Bride, New Jersey Bride and Celebrate! Magazines. When Brenda is not designing or putting the finishing touches on her upcoming book, she enjoys spending quiet time with her husband Lawrence and their two daughters.
