The Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America, also known as CCFA, is a nonprofit, volunteer-driven organization that focuses on children and adults affected by Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Founded in 1967, it sponsors various basic and clinical researches and provides educational programs for patients and health care professionals. The Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America raises more than $30 million every year through memberships, fundraising events and sponsorships. It also offers a variety of supportive services. Additionally, the organization operates the Information Resource Center (IRC), which provides disease-related information to the public, health care professionals, patients and their families.
