We are owned and operated by the Alexandria Township Historical Society and have served as the guardian of the history of the 1000 islands for the past 30 years. We are a National Historic Landmark and have stood on the waterfront of Alexandria Bay since 1866. We are a growing collection of historic artifacts and information relative to the people, organizations, residences, islands and businesses of the early St Lawrence River community. The mission of ATHS, is to collect, preserve and and interpret historic information and artifacts representative of the Town of Alexandria and river communities for the education and enjoyment of all who visit the museum. The museum is open mid-May to mid-October and is closed during the winter.
