The AFM is essentially the only union of professional musicians in the US and Canada. AFM membership puts you on the same team with the top professionals in every area of the music business. AFM musicians who travel are protected through the "Road Gig" program with free legal services and other support from the union while on the road. Minimum wage scales and working conditions established by the AFM and its Locals enable members to remain competitive with each other without limiting how high their earnings can be.
