Founded more than a century ago, the Church of God believes in the principles of Christ as they are revealed in the Bible, the Word of God. The foundation of faith and practice are in the scriptures. The church describes itself as "Christian, Protestant, Foundational, Evangelical, Pentecostal, Charismatic and Evangelistic." The church national has 388 credentialed ministers, 145 organized congregations, 14 mission churches and more than 21,000 members.
