Located on the street that is named for famed 19th century showman P.T. Barnum, the church actually purchased the property it has occupied for more than 130 years from Mr. Barnum himself. The purchase price was $150 for the lot that had been valued at $400. Mr. Barnum gifted the remaining equity to the church.
At the center of the Episcopal Church's teachings is that the church is made up of participants not spectators. Members are encouraged to take an active part in the church and its mission to grow in relationship to God and make Him known through their lives and ministry. In that vein the church participates in charitable events like the Welcome INN soup kitchen and the Eastern Farm Workers. The church has a Mission Bucket where congregants donate money for the various outreach ministries of the church.
The church holds services on Sunday at 8am and 10am, and Wednesday at 9am. They offer prayer group meetings, bible study and a program called ALPHA that teaches any interested person the basics of Christianity.
