Womens Caucus for Art
The Chicago Women's Caucus for Art (CWCA) is a dynamic organization that has been advocating for women's rights and promoting women artists in the greater Chicago community for 50 years. With a new logo symbolizing their reflection on the past and anticipation of the future, CWCA is partnering with various art groups to bring absurdity exhibitions to Chicago, in response to the current political climate that threatens women's rights. Through their exhibitions, programs, events, and calls for entry, CWCA continues to advance women's opportunities to develop creative solutions and make a lasting impact in the art world. As part of their mission to expand opportunities and recognition for women in the arts, CWCA collaborates with art institutions, theatre companies, filmmakers, dance companies, writers, musicians, and creatives to create a communal movement exhibit called "Absurdity - In Dada We Trust." This exhibition, opening in June 2023, aims to fight back against the trend toward insanity by looking to the past for guidance and taking a stand through Dadaism. In celebration of their 50th anniversary, CWCA also exhibited the "BEST OF Women Art Exhibition," showcasing artwork by members of The National Women's Caucus for Art, with no age limitation on the artwork submitted.Generated from the website
