Boys and Girls Clubs of Schenectady offers five-core program initiatives, including arts, sports and fitness, social skills, character development and leadership development and education and career development. Established in 1936, it offers a range of after school programs for children and disadvantaged youth of ages 6 through 18, and serves more than 8,000 children annually. The club, based in Schenectady, N.Y., provides prevention programs for youth that includes gang, alcohol, drug, tobacco, teen sex and pregnancy prevention. Boys and Girls Club of Schenectady is affiliated with the national program of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
