The principals of Bargold began a self-storage operation in 1985, which grew to nine facilities and totaled more than 16, 000 storage units. The chain was sold to a national self-storage operator in 1998. Through the experience gained in the operation of a standard, off-site self-storage operation, we realized that there was an unfilled demand for on-site self-storage in buildings throughout the New York metropolitan area. We knew we could satisfy that need in every building that had available basement areas, no matter how cluttered or rough'. Further, we committed ourselves to provide that service at a fraction of the price of off-site self storage facilities and strive to keep increases as modest as possible. We have strived to implement technology wherever possible to streamline the day to day operations and help facilitate a better storage product for our customers. A building community truly benefits from a safe, clean, secure storage environment.
