The Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance (APALA) is a national organization founded in 1992 that advocates for economic and racial justice, worker dignity, and human rights for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, as well as other marginalized communities. With strong support from the AFL-CIO, APALA represents AAPI workers and communities through its network of over 22 chapters and pre-chapters across the United States.
As the first and only national organization of its kind, APALA aims to empower AAPI workers and their allies, who are predominantly union members, to build collective power and fight against oppression. Through their work, APALA strives to create a society where all individuals, regardless of their background, can enjoy a better quality of life and contribute to a sustainable planet.
