Synchronicity Fine Art
HistoryPrevious to our current location we were in the SoHo district of New York City from 1988 to 2000. At that location, Synchronicity Space maintained 7,500 square feet on three floors at 55 Mercer Street. Our space functioned as an off-Broadway theatre, Two Fine Arts Galleries, visual artists' common workspace, rehearsal hall, Resident Theatre Company business offices, and in International Artists Residence for traveling arts students and exhibitors use while working in the metropolitan area. Our current space is used as the NY headquarters and is designed in the European tradition for exhibition of fine art exclusively. To date Synchronicity Space has produced over 275 exhibitions, 300 theatre productions, housed 60 visual and performing artists, provided studio workspace for more than 40 visual artists and helped develop 12 full time theatre companies locally. Internationally, we have succeeded in mounting 32 exchange programs.SpecialtiesSynchronicity Space, Inc., is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) arts organization. Historically, from its original location in SoHo, Synchronicity produced over 300 theatre projects and mounted public art exhibitions there and internationally. Their primary goal is developing new artists, visual and performing both nationally and abroad and assisting in the process of bringing their work work to the public, while at the same time supporting art education and the benefits of art as therapy. Every year, in January we sponsor an exhibition of work completed through art therapy by men in recovery, from St. Christopher's Inn at Graymoor, a substance abuse treatment center in Garrison, New York; Also annually, in February we present The Gifted Show, featuring the work of talented visual arts students from the tri-state area. Individual artists are exhibited the rest of the year, as well as readings for emerging playwrights, throughout. Gallery Hours: Tues-Sat; Noon - 6PM (or by appointment)
