History
An Rince Mor was started by Peggy Moriarty White and Helaine Sander Vecchione in 1972. After 10 years of teaching, Helaine left An Rince Mor to adjudicate Irish dance at feisanna. Peggy was the sole teacher up to 2007 when Geraldine Bergin joined the school. All teachers at an Rince Mor are certified and registered with CLRG and IDTANA. The dancers of An Rince Mor have performed on Good Morning America, danced in Madison Square Garden, performed locally in shows, parades and have also competed in World competitions. Many of the students have gone on to become teachers themselves. In addition, teacher Geraldine Bergin was a lead dancer in Michael Flately's show, 'Lord of the Dance'! We look forward to many more years of teaching the fine art of Irish dance to the Long Island community!
