New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services, also known as OASAS, offers a range of rehabilitative services. It operates the Bureau of Prevention that works to prevent alcohol and other drug problems. The office organizes a variety of classroom presentations, skill development workshops and training sessions for parents and teachers. New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services also conducts a variety of recreational activities for youths. Additionally, it serves special populations, such as the Chinese and Hispanic citizens, migrant workers, lesbians and gays. The office administers a range of treatment and recovery programs.
