History
JO WOOD-BROWN's art lectures evolved out of her life as a practicing visual artist. In 2001, after 9/11, she began A Day in Art tours at the same time founded Artist Exchange International and broadened her outreach as an artist. Jo has an ongoing interest in exploring the relationship between viewer and a work of art and in promoting international dialog in contemporary art. Her tours include the work of artists established and emerging, and important art historical exhibitions.
Specialties
Each tour concentrates on contemporary work and its various media rooted in an art historical context. Our focus at A Day in Art is to examine the lines of participation between viewed and viewer, where one can develop the capacity to creatively respond to what they are seeing. We provide insight into the artistic practice and context, while encouraging the crafting of ideas about potential meaning and impact.
