Located in Albuquerque, N.M., Sequoyah Adolescent Treatment Center is a 36-bed residential treatment center for adolescents with a history of violence and those with a mental disorder. It is a Medicaid-certified facility that is operated by the New Mexico Health Department and is approved by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. It provides various clinical services, including individual, group and family therapies, art therapy, educational programs, medical care and medication management. The center also provides various other services, such as pet therapy, neuropsychiatric treatment, social work, therapeutic recreational activities, and speech and language therapy. Its contract services include dental care, nutritional planning, optometry, pediatrics, pharmacy, X-ray and electrocardiograms. Sequoyah Adolescent Treatment Center also operates a special education school.
