Miners' Colfax Medical Center, located in Raton, N.M., is an acute and long-term care facility. The center provides care and treatment to occupationally injured and ill miners throughout the state. It is a more than 30-bed facility consisting of a medical-surgical unit, intensive care and obstetrics units, operating rooms and 24-hour emergency services. Miners' Colfax Medical Center also provides outpatient diagnostics and specialty care clinics. Its nursing facility consists of a wellness center and offers outreach services, including dialysis and black lung clinics. The center s outreach clinic program includes a mobile van equipped with a pulmonary laboratory, radiology room, audiometry booth and general respiratory equipment. It conducts chest X-rays, hearing and lung function tests, and cardiovascular and blood gas tests, and follows up with an examination by pulmonologists.
