As an advocate for business, the Chamber works to maintain active communication with government officials in order to keep current on policies and issues critical to a vital business climate. The Governmental Affairs Division serves to study, formulate and recommend policy on local, state and national governmental issues which impact the Chamber membership and the regional business community. We work to influence local, state, and national government by mobilizing support on critical issues to business, with visits to government officials, publications and contacts representing the membership and influence the training and election of business-friendly candidates. The Governmental Affairs Division also supports local area military and governmental institutions such as Whites Sands Missile Range and the developing commercial space industry in Southern New Mexico at Spaceport America. We have a proven track record of promoting a vibrant, diverse and sustainable regional economy.
