Sunflower Sanctuary Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Tijeras, New Mexico. Founded in 2008 by Cynthia Dares, a Hurricane Katrina survivor, the sanctuary provides a permanent and loving home for elderly, sick, and neglected animals that are unable to be placed in traditional homes. With a mission to save and care for animals in need, Sunflower Sanctuary has saved over 350 animals to date and continues to offer aid and assistance to animals during times of disaster.
